Lent – Journey To The Cross

What is lent? 

Think about that question for a moment. 

How would you answer?

Why bother?

Lent is a tool.

There are many things you can use to strike a nail, but one of the best tools is a hammer.

Lent is like a spiritual hammer.

I know this might be too simplistic but that’s the way I think about it. It’s a tool that helps us focus our hearts on the essential ingredients of Christianity—the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

THIS IS THE GOSPEL.

Lent is a good tool to help us recalibrate our hearts around the essentials, around the Gospel. 

One of the best parts about Lent is that we get to experience it together.I encourage you to pick up this tool, pick up the hammer, and use it. And as you do, look around to see the others that are working on the same project.
